How to get rich
There are plenty of books on making money by men and women who havent made much. Thats exactly why I like this book by J. Paul Getty, there is no disputing the authors credentials. He wrote it to convince young businessmen that there are no sure-fire, quick-and-easy formulas for success in business, that there are no ways in which a man can automatically become a millionaire in business. I would add that now there are plenty of women who are doing well in business because they understand what other women want…
And specifically when it comes to stock investments he discusses why the average person will not attain wealth in the stock market. The average person may risk a little of his or her capital and if the investment doesnt work out the person loses a little. It is precisely this kind of risk that everyone can take that negates the creation of wealth. If the investment works out, the gain is usually little. You would have had to invest a substantial amount in a superior asset/stock in order to benefit from the movement of the share price and this is the kind of risk that few are willing to accept.

How did he know he would amass a huge fortune? Before he created wealth he told a friend, I have no immediate plan. I only see the goal. Plans must be formed along the way.
This is a great book that does something different than other books about Jay Gould it goes in depth with coverage to get a complete picture of his life and offers a good read along the way. I found some nuggets of wisdom along the way, and maybe I could share them with you. But before I get a chance to do that: Stop buying books on improving your financial life. When you consume a thousand books at an average cost of $10 to $20 the savings are ten to twenty thousand dollars! Financial principles dont change, the authors just mix in a bunch of stories to illustrate points. The priority is to obtain life changing actionable information, but you wont find much of it between the covers of any financial book with bold promises but you no longer even have to look at them and waste hundreds or thousands of hours and hundreds or thousands of dollars to get the information you need because I condense any worthwhile information or financial principles into an easy learning format.
